Water access rights are not financial products under the Corporations Act 2001, and water brokers are not required to hold an Australian Financial Services Licence to facilitate trade in them. We neither offer nor provide legal or financial advice relating to the sale of water entitlements.

As a water market intermediary, we operate under the Water Markets Intermediaries Code — the mandatory, ACCC-enforced code of conduct made under the Water Act 2007 (Cth), as amended by the Restoring Our Rivers Act 2023 — together with its associated trust-accounting obligations. Water Authority Forms for allocation trading are lodged through the Victorian Water Register Broker Portal, and trades are subject to the rules of the relevant state water register and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.

Integra is a member of the Australian Water Brokers Association (AWBA) and conducts its broking in line with the association’s standards of conduct for water market intermediaries.

We maintain a separate water market trust account under applicable laws for the purpose of delivering our services, and we may ask you to pay funds relating to trades into it. On the Settlement Date, you authorise us to apply those funds to the fees payable for your trade, with the balance paid to you.

We also maintain a brokering water account (an Allocation Bank Account). If you are a seller, you may transfer volume into this account to facilitate a trade where the Offer to Sell allows; if we cannot match and transfer the full volume, we return the balance to your nominated ABA at your cost. Any water transferred into our brokering account must be removed by 30 June each year.

The fees that may apply to an engagement include a processing fee, commission, and disbursements such as an ASIC company search where applicable. The fees for your particular engagement are set out and agreed in your Offer Documentation and Water Trade Documents before you commit. Our fees are subject to GST; the sale of water allocation itself is a GST-free supply of water in accordance with ATO Ruling GSTR 2000/25. We discuss the fees that apply to you directly, up front, when we first talk about your engagement.

If a conflict of interest exists in relation to providing services to you, we will disclose it to you in writing, explain the circumstances giving rise to it, and ask you to confirm in writing that the disclosure has been received. We will not provide services to you in relation to any matter where we identify a material personal interest.

We keep all confidential information you provide strictly confidential and use it only as necessary to provide our services. We will not disclose it to a third party without your consent unless required by law, and where the law requires disclosure we will, where possible, give you reasonable prior notice.

Any complaint about our services will be handled in accordance with our complaints handling policy.
